Introducing the Candidates

for the Position of Second Vice-President

Each year at the National Council Meeting the ESP Delegates elect a Second
Vice President who will serve a four year term.  During the term the Second Vice
President will rotate through the officer chairs serving as President-Elect, President
and Past President.  The region from which the individual must come is the region
where the Past President resides.  This year that region is the North Central Region.

This year we are fortunate to have two excellent canddates from the North Central
region who are running for the office of Second Vice President.

Board Proposes New Strategic Plan for

2011 - 2015

The ESP National Board has just completed a process over the last several months
to develop a new Strategic Plan for 2011-2015.  The process including gathering
input from members both online and from chapter leadership at the JCEP
Leadership Workshops last February.  During the mid-year board meeting and
throughout the spring, Boad members worked to develop a plan that would provide
direction for the organization for the next five years.

Needed Two ESP Representative for
Galaxy IV Planning Committee

ESP is looking for two members to represent our organization on the Galaxy IV
Planning Committee.  The planning committee will be working to plan the next
Galaxy Conference which will be held
September 15-20, 2013 in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania.

ESP Announces 2010 Recognition Winners

The ESP Chapters have voted and the 2010 ESP recognition recipients have been determined. 
There 145 applications submitted for the various awards.  There were many outstanding nominations
representing every facet of the Extension focus and mission.  Epsilon Sigma Phi congratulates all of
the applicants / nominees and especially the recipients on their Extension efforts and the recognition
given by their chapters.

Dr. Dorothy McCargo Freeman
State 4-H Leader and Associate Director
for the University of Minnesota Extension Center
for Youth Development

Dr. Freeman has provided leadership for Extension and the 4-H Program her entire career and she has emerged as a national leader. She has provided state and nationwide leadership to Extension professionals in reaching out to underserved, diverse youth audiences to get them engaged in the 4-H Program and to develop their own leadership skills. Dorothy’s enthusiasm and passion is for educating our young people and promoting positive rather than negative youth development. This is the corner stone of her professional career in Extension and 4-H and the leadership that she has given to further the program in Virginia, Minnesota, the North Central Region and across the nation.
